Fact: It is not possible to read the bill in 72 hours!

Volunteers from the Cincinnati Tea Party and the Cincinnati 9/12 Project sought to read the 2000-plus page federal health care bill in 72 hours. They failed.

That, the group say, prove their point. “It is highly unlikely that our elected officials could read the bill in the time allotted,” said Ed Bell of the Cincinnati Tea Party. Although some argue that reading out loud always takes longer than reading silently, organizers noted they also read the complex bill without any breaks to eat or sleep and without cross-referencing it or researching its implications.

Hundreds of volunteers took shifts reading the bill out loud from 6 p.m. May 14 to 6 p.m. May 17 at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Blue Ash.

Attorney General and State Assemblies of 26 states are preparing to challenge the constitutionality of the "Health Care Reform" legislation. Unfortunately, the Columbus Ohio politicians are deeply beholden to their cohorts in DC and will not sway from the defined path. That is where YOU come in!

The Ohio Liberty Council, a statewide coalition of over 25 grassroots groups, has submitted a proposed state constitutional amendment that will “preserve the freedom of Ohioans to choose their health care and health care coverage.” The amendment, drafted by the 1851 Center for Constitutional Law, would protect Ohioans from the financial burdens and individual mandates contained in the new federal health care measure passed by Congress. The group filed constitutional amendment summary language and nearly 3,000 signatures from registered voters in 48 counties with the Ohio Secretary of State and Attorney General.

In order to get this amendment onto the November ballot we need to collect over 600,000 signatures in the next 100 days. All of us need to participate in this process! Details will be coming in the next few days.

Cincinnati Tea Party and 9/12 Project
Fight Endgame with Parallel Events
in Cincinnati OH and Washington DC

March 20, 2010 7:30pm
Carew Tower, Downtown Cincinnati
Fifth and Vine

Thank you to the over 500 people that attended the demonstration in Cincinnati. The line stretched around the entire block of the Carew Tower! The candlelight vigil on the sidewalks outside of the District Office of Congressman Steve Dreihaus, served as a final appeal to rescue the Constitution from intensive care. Unfortunately our representatives decided to ignore us and the Constitution in order to push their agenda forward.

The march to November begins now!

We must insure that we replace these individuals with Representatives that actually intend to "represent" their constituents.

OHCongress - “Hands Off Our Healthcare”

March 15, 2010 6:00pm to 7:30pm
Nathaniel Greene Lodge at Veterans Park
6394 Wesselman Road, Cincinnati, OH 45248

The Cincinnati Tea Party, Cincinnati 9/12 Project and Americans for Prosperity joined forces to sponsor a “Hands Off Our Healthcare Rally” on Tuesday March 16 in opposition to the health care reform bill currently in Congress. Over 500 citizens gathered to voice their opposition and hear speakers present compelling arguments for killing the current health care bill and starting fresh with free market based reforms. There were speakers from the medical community, OH Congress, and the sponsoring organizations.

A great summary of the event can be found at Examiner.com.

Attendees at Tuesday evening’s rally signed letters to Congressman Steve Driehaus and the Ohio Congressional Delegation urging a “Nay” vote on the healthcare bill. These letters will be uploaded to the OH Congress website and were delivered to the local offices this week. This rally is a notice to citizens, legislators, and the media of the overwhelming groundswell of opposition to the health care bill.

Over 100 Candidates
Pledge Support of Core Values and Ethics

On Wednesday, February 24, 101 political candidates participated in a rally and press conference sponsored by the Cincinnati Tea Party and Cincinnati 9/12 Project. The event was at the Lakota Freshman Campus Auditorium in West Chester. Registered candidates from any party who are running for office—from precinct executive to senator—were recognized. No candidates were endorsed. Participants in the rally committed to basic ethical standards and the Tea Party’s core values: limited government, fiscal responsibility, and free markets. All agreements are notarized and are published on the Cincinnati Tea Party and Cincinnati 9/12 Project websites.
